Practice Awards

Each student has the opportunity to earn awards twice a year at the recitals.  These awards include a personalized detailed certificate along with a picture of the award earned.  Awards are presented depending on how much the student has practiced.   Each award is unique and changes as the student progresses from year to year (no student will be given the same award twice). In order to advance to the 2nd year award, students must earn the top 1st year award. To progress to the 3rd year award, students must earn the top 2nd year award, and so on.

I do not require a certain amount of practice time. However, if the student wishes to earn an award, the minimum is 30 minutes a day 5 days a week, as outlined below.

Requirements for Earning Awards

  • Practice a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week
  • You will receive a sticker to place on a chart by your name
  • Earning 20 stickers by the Fall Recital = small award
  • Earning 30 stickers by the Spring Recital = medium award
  • Earning 40 stickers by the Spring Recital = Large award & you progress to the next year’s award
Earning Bonus Stickers

  • Attend a live concert performance (approved by the teacher)
  • Perform at the Studio Recital
  • Perform at another public event
  • Each day that you practice after the 5 required days, a line will be drawn by your name on the chart
  • When you accumulate 5 lines, you will receive a bonus sticker to place on the chart
Performance Certificates

Performance certificates are presented to each student who performs at the recital.  These certificates are custom designed and correspond to the theme of that particular recital.

Level Advancements and Memorization

Personalized certificates are presented for advancing method book levels.  A ribbon and personalized certificate are awarded for each piece performed from memory at the recital.
